MosaicSF #005. The San Francisco Earthquake Anniversary Show.
Shake, rattle and roll that Podcast. Yeah, we know that’s lame but we couldn’t help it.
This week we went out and talked with movers and shakers (OK, nuf!) in the world of earthquakes. No, you haven’t heard it all.
Brian went out and talked it up with David Burkhart, a professional trumpeter, teacher at the San Francisco Conservatory, employee of Anchor Steam Brewery, and author of “Earthquake Days: The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and Fire in 3-D.” Busy boy that David.Brian also hung out at the Exploratorium with Pamela Winfrey, the Exploratorium’s Senior Artist and curator of the Turing Tables exhibit. If you are looking for a deeper understanding of San Francisco earthquakes visit the Exploratorium’s great Earthquake website.
Laura managed to get an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle’s Carl Nolte. Carl, a 25-year veteran of SF Chronicle, wrote “The San Francisco Century: A City Rises from the Ruins of the 1906 Earthquake and Fire.”And if you thought that Laura is now afraid to go out of her house, she did a few street interviews with people living on the rather soft underbelly of the Marina district. Hear if these folks are prepared.
