MosaicSF #019. Learning The Ropes.
Long before the Giants, Niners and Warriors began filling local stadiums and arenas, San Francisco’s sporting spotlight was cast squarely on the boxing canvas. From the bare-fisted brawls of the Gold Rush days until recent prize fights, it was a man’s world all the way. About the only way a woman could get into the ring at all was to put on a skimpy bathing suit and parade about between rounds. Her story is sure to knock you out.
